The latest episode of “Inside Tennis with The Koz,” which premieres on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. on the Suncoast News Network in Florida, is now available online, featuring the USTA Pro Circuit’s Sarasota Open, and ATP players Frances Tiafoe, Bjorn Fratanglo, Noah Rubin and more.

Also featured will be Nick Bollettieri Women’s Invitational tournament winner Katinia Kozarov, the U.S.’s Longines Future Tennis Aces in Paris representative Nikki Yanez, Dick Vitale, a tennis tip from Chris Garner, head men’s tennis coach at the Naval Adademy, and a sit-down with USTA Florida Executive Committee member and National USPTA President Chuck Gill.

2 Florida Players Honored with Intercollegiate Tennis NAIA National Awards

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2016 NAIA national award winners this week, and Florida players from Warner University (Lake Wales) and Southeastern University (Lakeland) took home honors.

Rafael Coutinho of Warner was named the ITA Rookie of the Year. In his first season, Coutinho took over the No. 1 singles and doubles positions, and rose to a No. 16 national singles ranking and No. 13 doubles ranking nationally. He’s posted perfect 11-0 records in singles and doubles in 2016.

Alexis Quinn of Southeastern was named the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winner. The No. 1 singles player, Quinn sports a 10-5 record and is ranked No. 38 nationally. She’s also gone 7-4 in doubles with partner Emily Acierno and the duo are No. 21 in the nation.

Additional honors for Quinn include: two-time The Sun Conference Champion of Character honoree; three-time Academic All-TSC selection; two-time CoSIDA Academic All-Region, 2015 Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-American; First Team All-Sun Conference, and Honorable Mention NAIA All-American.
