Alternative Formats
Alternative-format events such as Tiebreak Tournaments, Fast4, and One-on-One Doubles offer players a chance to play competitively in one-day and abbreviated tournaments rather than giving up an entire weekend.
Alternative formats include torunament styles such as:
Fast4
The four key rules in Fast4 are:
- Play “let” serves that drop in
- It’s no-ad tennis, as once a game reaches deuce, a “Power Point” decides the game
- At 3-games all in a set, a short tiebreak is played (first to 5 points), and a Power Point determines the winner if the tiebreak reaches 4 points all
- Four is the magic number, as 4 games wins a set

One-On-One Doubles
One-0n-One Doubles Tennis is a half-court, serve-and-volley singles competition played on a doubles court. One-on-One Doubles Tennis can be played in both tournament and league format.
Tournament Divisions
There are various types of adult tournaments for players of all types. Find out more below!

Age Division
Adult/Senior Age Division Tournament Tennis offers men and women the opportunity to individually compete in sanctioned tennis tournaments in five year increments, for example; 30 through 90. Age division tournaments offer singles and doubles categories. Most guarantee players at least two matches in each division with a feed-in consolation.

NTRP Division
NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) tournaments offer players the ability to play tournaments at their appropriate NTRP rating level. Most USTA Florida tournaments offer all available NTRP levels from 2.5-5.0. These tournaments are grouped by level to provide the player with a competitive but comfortable opportunity to compete with others.

Family Division
Includes the following divisions; father-son, father-daughter, mother-son, mother–daughter. Parent and child may enter if they are related; by blood, legal adoption, or current step relationship. A child may play with different parents in different tournaments or different divisions in a tournament. There is also a division with a minimum age restriction for parent.

Wheelchair Division
Created in 1976 in California, wheelchair tennis is one of the fastest growing and most challenging of all wheelchair sports.
Programs for adults are offered in various cities in Florida and Wheelchair Tournament opportunities exist throughout the year.

USTA NTRP National Championships
The NTRP Nationals Championships are national adult tournaments that leverage the NTRP rating system as a way to create level-based competition at the 18 & over and 50 & over age groups. Each year, NTRP National Champions are crowned in men’s and women’s singles and doubles at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 levels in both 18 & over and 50 & over age groups, as well as at the 5.0 level in the 18 & over division. Learn more below about how you can qualify for the 2020 NTRP National Championship.
How To Qualify For The National Championships
