Great tennis programs need support, and USTA Florida is here to help. Through the USTA Florida Section Foundation and USTA national resources, we offer grants and assistance for tennis programs, equipment, and public facilities across Florida. If you are working to grow tennis in your community, there may be funding and support for you.
How USTA Florida helps you grow tennis
Most funding flows through the USTA Florida Section Foundation, whose mission is changing lives through tennis. Since its founding, the Foundation has delivered more than $2.5 million in equipment and financial support to community programs serving Floridians of all ages and abilities.
Whether you run a youth program, an adaptive tennis clinic, a park, a school team, or a community association, help comes in two forms:
Grants
Financial support for programs, equipment, and facility improvements.
Assistance
Hands-on help like consulting, coaching support, and marketing resources.

Program Support Grant (Section Foundation)
The Foundation’s flagship grant provides financial assistance to organizations growing the accessibility and inclusivity of tennis in Florida.
What it funds: on-court instruction and coaching, tennis equipment and supplies, marketing and outreach, and general program support, including adaptive and wheelchair tennis programs.
What it does not fund: individual certifications, capital projects, court building or renovation, travel, scholarships, and administrative salaries.
A Florida charitable nonprofit (IRS-designated) or a government entity such as a school or parks and recreation site
A USTA Organizational Member in good standing
An organization with broad community support that meets a compelling local need
Programs that align with the Foundation’s focus on youth tennis and adaptive populations of all ages
If working with youth, all adults interacting with athletes must be Safe Play approved
Applications are reviewed first-come, first-served against a set budget each cycle, so apply early. Submit online through the Foundation’s grant portal.
Facility assistance (courts and public facilities)
Building, resurfacing, or improving public courts is handled through the USTA Facility Services Program, which offers both expert assistance and competitive grants to public facilities.
- Assistance: complimentary business, technical, and advocacy support, plus a dedicated USTA project consultant to guide your project.
- Grants: competitive funding for public facilities, typically up to 50% of project cost, with tiers for basic court amenities, resurfacing and lighting, and new court construction.
To qualify, a facility generally must be open to the public for play or programming.

- USTA Adaptive Tennis Grant for community adaptive programs
- USTA Wheelchair Tennis grants, including collegiate wheelchair programs
- USTA Foundation NJTL grants for National Junior Tennis and Learning chapters
- David N. Dinkins HBCU Coaching Grant for HBCUs with varsity tennis
Event grants
Hosting a community event? Reimbursement grants are often available for CTAs, NJTL chapters, and public facilities running approved events, especially during National Tennis Month in May. Amounts, deadlines, and availability change each year.
Beyond grants: assistance and support
Funding is only part of the picture. USTA Florida also offers hands-on help to grow and sustain your program:
- Facility consulting through the USTA Facility Services Program (business plans, operations, technical guidance, advocacy)
- The Community Coach Program to recruit, train, and support new coaches
- Tennis Service Representatives for local, on-the-ground support
- Free marketing resources to promote your program and events

- Be an eligible entity: a Florida nonprofit or a government entity like a school or parks and rec site.
- Hold a current USTA Organizational Membership in good standing
- Be Safe Play approved if your program works with youth.
