Florida’s tennis infrastructure faces a critical imbalance: surging participation is colliding with a public court system that covers less than one-fifth of the state’s total court inventory. Public tennis courts are a public health intervention, an equity strategy, a driver of local economic activity, and a community asset that appreciates in value over time. Of the 17,770 tennis courts tracked across 65 counties, only 3,497 — roughly 19.7 percent — are publicly accessible. That translates to approximately one public court for every 6,686 residents.
