Sunday Results: 66th USTA Florida ‘Bobby Curtis’ Junior State Doubles Tennis Championships
Seven age group divisions determined finalists on Sunday, Sept. 21, Day 2 at the 66th USTA Florida Bobby Curtis Junior State Doubles Tennis Championships.
Held Sept. 20-22, 2014, age groups are contested at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs (18s-16s age divisions), and at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach (14s-10s divisions).
The Boys’ 18 doubles final will be an all-unseeded affair as Christopher Ephron (Pensalcola) and Davey Roberts (Palm Coast), who upset the No. 5 seeds in the semifinals, will face Brian Berdusco and Zachary Bessette of Bradenton.
The Girls’ 18 final will go according to seeding when No. 1 Gabriella Pollner (Boca Raton) and US Open girls’ singles semifinalist Katerina Stewart (Coral Gables) meet No. 2 seeds Rachel Rohrabacher (Tampa) and Jaclyn Switkes (Ponte Vedra Beach).
Stewart, Rohrabacher and Switkes are all former Florida junior state doubles champions.
The unseeded Damm brothers, Max and Martin, sons of former US Open champion Martin Damm of Bradenton, will face No. 1 seeds Joshua Miller (Delray Beach) and Benjamin Zipay (Osprey) in the Boys’ 12 final.

Former world No. 1s Chris Evert, Andy Roddick and Jim Courier are among the players that have raised trophies in singles at the USTA Florida Bobby Curtis Junior State Singles Championships, previously known as the USTA Florida Jr. State Closed. Florida’s top event was renamed to honor the legendary Florida junior tennis organizer Bobby Curtis in 2012. The tournament is annually a launching pad for future college stars and pros.
