You still have time to get your entry in for the 2019 Closed NTRP 50 & Over Championships, which is a qualifier for the USTA NTRP National Championships in 2020.

Players will take to the courts Sept. 14-15 at Forestmeadows Park and Athletic Center in Tallahassee, Fla.

“Competing for the NTRP National Championships is a unique alternative to traditional tournaments and adult leagues,” said USTA Florida Adult Play Coordinator Bobby York. “The tournament provides an opportunity to compete in both singles and doubles outside of the traditional league setting, and can be very successful with player support.”

The tournament offers men’s and women’s singles and doubles for 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 divisions.

“This is a great opportunity for area players to compete locally with the possibility of advancing to a National Championship event,” said York.

Players must have a 2018 computer-generated NTRP rating to participate. Self-rated players are not eligible.

An additional NTRP 50 & Over Fall Qualifier will be held Dec. 7-9 at the Tennis Center of Coral Springs.

“The winner of the event gains an automatic spot in the National NTRP Championships in 2020,” said USTA Florida Player Development Coordinator Andy Gladstone. “Each USTA Section receives a certain amount of spots in the National NTRP Championships based on adult membership. Florida receives two spots in the National NTRP Championships in 2020.”

2020 NTRP National Championship dates:
April 3-5, 2020 – 50 & Over 3.0-4.5 Singles, USTA National Campus, Orlando, Fla.
April 17-19, 2020 – 50 & Over 3.0-4.5 Doubles, Academia Sanchez-Casal, Naples, Fla.
