Florida USTA League teams had an unprecedented run this Fall at USTA League Nationals, posting three first-place finishes in one weekend, four first-place finishes overall, in addition to two third- and two fourth-place finishes.
The three first-place finishes in one weekend came at the 55 & Over USTA League National Championships where a men’s and women’s team from the same club in Ocala captured first place, as did a women’s team from Palm City.
Also finishing at the top of the heap was a team from Tampa at the 18 & Over USTA League National Championships.
Here are the seven teams that placed (1st-4th) at the USTA League National Championships last fall:
1st — Ocala men, Ft. King Tennis Center, 55 & Over 6.0
1st — Ocala women, Ft. King Tennis Center, 55 & Over 6.0
1st — Palm City women, Monarch Country Club, 55 & Over 8.0 women
1st — Tampa women, Harbour Island Tennis Center, 18 & Over 4.5
3rd — Port St. Lucie women, Magnolia Lakes, 55 & Over 7.0
3rd – Tallahassee women, Forestmeadows Park, Mixed 18 & Over 7.0
4th — Ocala men, Ft. King Tennis Center, 18 & Over 2.5
4th — Doral men, Doral Park Country Club, 18 & Over 4.0
