USTA Florida Sponsoring ATA Annual Awards Gala for Second Consecutive Year
Tennis is more than a game, it’s a platform for progress, pride, and honoring those who’ve paved the way. On Sunday, July 27, USTA Florida proudly returns as the Presenting Sponsor of the American Tennis Association (ATA) Gala, hosted at the Rice Pavilion at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. The evening will bring together players, leaders, and supporters to celebrate Black excellence in tennis and the power of community.
The evening will feature a mix of celebration and reflection, with opportunities for guests to connect, enjoy live entertainment, and honor the achievements of those who have paved the way for future generations. Attendees will also enjoy light refreshments, music, and a commemorative atmosphere that highlights the ATA’s rich history. Guests are encouraged to RSVP by July 17 at yourata.org/2025blackexperience.
The 2025 Gala will honor three extraordinary individuals whose contributions have left a lasting impact on the sport:
- Stacey Allaster, Chief Executive of USTA Professional Tennis and US Open Tournament Director
- Jarmere and Jermaine Jenkins, elite tennis professionals and mentors
- Illona Young, devoted mother and coach to professional player Donald Young
USTA Florida’s continued sponsorship of the ATA Gala reflects its deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in tennis. Last year’s Gala, also presented by USTA Florida, was a powerful evening of storytelling, recognition, and community building. This year’s event promises to build on that momentum, further strengthening the partnership between the two organizations.
In addition to the Gala, the ATA National Championships will take place from July 28 to August 3 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. These historic championships, which began in 1917 with just three events, have grown into a weeklong celebration of competitive excellence. The 2025 edition will feature five major divisions.
These events draw players from across North America and the Caribbean, showcasing a vibrant and diverse tennis community. Winners of the Men’s and Women’s Open divisions will each receive $1,500 and a wildcard entry into a $15K USTA Pro Circuit event, while finalists will receive $750.
Together, the Gala and Championships represent a powerful celebration of heritage, excellence, and the future of tennis. USTA Florida is honored to support the ATA in its mission to grow the game and uplift the community.
