Tennis Providers: Available USTA Grants for Halloween Adult Team Up Events in October

General News Adult Tennis News

How about a social Halloween Team Up mini-tournament in your area to grow participation in October?

The USTA national body is offering grants for organizers interested in piloting a Halloween Team Up mini-tournament, complete with costumes and geared towards adult players 18-39 who want a fun, social, and short but competitive tennis play opportunity.

“A Team Up tournament is a great way to get young adults in the game by getting them on the court in their Halloween costume,” says Michael Hughes, USTA national adult competition manger. “This tournament is a fun and social event with minimal time requirements and flexible match play.”

The format allows participants to play multiple matches against like-skilled opponents in a casual environment. The format features a maximum three-hour event, with two hours of match play and one of social time. USTA membership is not required, and matches are gender neutral.

Grant dollars in addition to flyer templates, poster templates, and TennisLink administration support will be provided for accepted applicants.
