Cardio Tennis Training Courses in Sept., Oct. in Florida

Two Cardio Tennis Training Courses will be coming to Weston, Fla., in September and October for tennis or fitness coaches looking to add the active, inclusive and fun format to their offerings.

The Midtown Athletic in Weston will host new Cardio Tennis pathway programs on two dates:

Sept. 17 — Level 1 “Start” with the six components of Cardio Tennis, how to deliver sessions, the importance of heart rate training and more.

Oct. 2 — Level 2 “Pump Up” with how to deliver sessions with unique numbers, articulating standards, demonstrating techniques and more.

“If a tennis or fitness coach registers for both these courses they receive a significant discount,” says Cardio Tennis Global Education Director Michele Krause. “We also have an early bird registration discount of $50 off for Level 1 that expires on Aug. 26.”

Jewish Tennis Juniors, Adults Can Qualify for U.S. Team at World Maccabiah Games

Maccabi USA is seeking qualified Jewish tennis players, ages 14-85+, to represent the United States on the Juniors, Open, Paralympic, Masters, and Grand Masters teams at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel on July 4-18, 2017. Maccabi USA will be part of the overall 1,200+ member USA Team at the 2017 World Maccabiah Games.

“We are really excited about the chance to bring over 1,200 athletes to Israel for the 20th Maccabiah Games, which would surpass the previous record of 1,100 athletes during the 19th Games in 2013,” said organizing committee chairman Jeff Bukantz. “We are all hard at work recruiting the best sports chairmen, coaches and athletes to build Team USA.”

The 20th World Maccabiah Games is the world’s third largest international sporting event and will consist of more than 9,000 athletes from 75 countries participating in 42 different sports.

ISRAEL CONNECT, Maccabi USA’s unique cultural and educational program, takes place for seven days prior to the start of the games. All Juniors, Youth, Open and Paralympic team athletes must participate in the program, where they have the opportunity to tour historical and religious sites, take part in cultural identity seminars and train with their teams, all while developing lifelong relationships.

Maccabi USA is a U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) Multi-Sport Organization (MSO). The organization is one of 38 MSOs nationwide to be recognized by the USOC for its ability to cultivate a national interest in sport and increase opportunities for participation internationally, nationally and at the grassroots level.

Clearwater to Host Pretty in Pink Tennis Charity Event Benefiting Breast Cancer Survivors

pretty pinkThe 9th Annual 2016 Pretty in Pink Charity Tennis Tournament for women and men will benefit breast cancer survivors starting on Oct. 7, 2016, at Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, Fla.

“My Hope Chest is so excited to be the beneficiary this year of the Countryside Country Club’s 9th Annual Pretty In Pink Tennis Tournament,” said My Hope Chest organizers. “We can’t wait! So grab your friends and join this fun-filled weekend of great tennis for a great cause!”

My Hope Chest, a 501-(c3) non-profit charity, offers financial assistance for breast cancer reconstructive surgery to uninsured and under-insured survivors.

Friday evening will feature a kickoff Dinner & Draw Party, a Silent Auction and more.
