Six Florida players brought home age division doubles trophies over the weekend at the 29th Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships, held at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., from Nov. 25-Dec. 6, 2015.

Sonya Kenin of Pembroke Pines, Fla., won her second straight Eddie Herr doubles title as the No. 2 seed with Ingrid Neel of Minnesota, in the final easing past top seeds Dalma Galfi of Hungary and Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia 6-3, 6-1.

The pair only chanced to play together after Neel’s regular partner was unable to compete due to injury.

“The last time we played together was the under 12s,” Neel told zootennis.com. “I don’t think that even counts. It’s basically our first time.”

Last year Kenin claimed the title with fellow American Jessica Ho.

The Florida pairing of Christian Alshon (Boca Raton) and Antoine Sanchez (Sarasota) won the Boys’ 16s title as the No. 8-seeded team, in the final coming from a set down to defeat No. 7 seeds Malik Bhatnagar (Canada) and Trey Hilderbrand (Texas) 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.

Another all-Florida team won the Boys’ 14s title when No. 5 seeds Nicholas Garcia (Hollywood) and Ronan Jachuck (Boca Raton) topped No. 1 seeds Joao Ferreira/Thiago Tirante of Argentina 6-4, 6-1 in the final.

Boca Raton’s Charlotte Owensby took home the Girls’ 12s title with Atlanta’s Cori Gauff, as the No. 2 seeds in the final defeated top seeds Kylie Bilchey of Britain and Daria Lopatetska of the Ukraine 5-7, 6-3, 10-5.
