Talent Thrives at Tri-Level and Mixed 55 & Over Sectional Championships

Adult Leagues Adult Tennis News

As the Adult League National Championships closes for many, Adult Tri-Level and Adult 55 and Over Mixed gets right into the swing of things. These divisions hold their Sectional Championships in November, in hopes to qualify for the National stage in 2024.

Over 20 Florida tennis teams gathered at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, to compete for their chance at a national title. USTA Florida hosted four different Tri-Level divisions and one for the 55 and Over Mixed.

Tri-Level League is a doubles format designed to create a unique opportunity by combining players of differing NTRP levels on teams in local competition. Teams advance through Sectional Championships, and winners of those earn a bid to the National Championships.

The Mixed League takes two people, one man and one woman, combines their rating, and matches them against other players who have the same added up rating. It’s a fun way to see tennis played as different skillsets mesh to create the ultimate pair.

The winners of each division have advanced to the 2023 USTA League Tom Fey Tri-Level National Invitational, which is being held on March 7-11, 2024, at the Barnes Tennis Center & Balboa Tennis Club in San Diego, California.

Those who won in the Mixed 55 and over division have received an automatic bid to the 2023 Mixed 55 & Over National Invitational, which takes place March 22-24, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
