Top-seeded Caique Cavalcanti (Doral) made the Boys’ 12s draw look easy from start to finish. In the Quarterfinals, he rolled with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Luke Pehar (Lakeland), then stayed every bit as sharp in the semifinals, handling 11th-seeded Yevhenii Dyachok (Boca Raton) 6-1, 6-2 to reach the final without losing his grip on a match.

Third-seeded Noah Lee (Orlando) earned his place against him. He rolled past 16th-seeded Reed Barnwell (Naples) 6-1, 6-0 in the quarterfinals, then met fifth-seeded Bobby Bryan (Sunny Isles Beach) in the semifinals, fresh off a 7-5, 3-6, [10-7] win over the second-seeded Bence Leber (Delray Beach) a round earlier. Noah handled the moment with a steady 6-4, 6-2 win to book his spot in the championship.

In the final, Caique picked up right where he left off. He set the tone early and never let Noah settle into a rhythm, taking the first set 6-2 before closing the door with a 6-1 second set to cap his run as the Boys’ 12s Bobby Curtis Champion.

Girls’ 12s

Ava Coy (Left), Sarah Lee (Right)

Top-seeded Ava Coy (Dunedin) carried herself like the favorite all week. She openhad a nice 6-2, 6-2 win over seventh-seeded Myra Yadav (Naples) in the quarterfinals, then took care of third-seeded Raquel Delarosa (Miami) 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals to reach the final in straight sets and set up a meeting with the tournament’s other top seed.

Second-seeded Sarah Lee (Boca Raton) had to dig deeper to get there. She edged sixth-seeded Angeline Bone (Jacksonville) 6-4, 7-6 (3) in a tight quarterfinal, then showed real grit in the semifinals against fifth-seeded Priya Prasad (Miami Lakes). Sarah dropped the opening set 6-2 but flipped the script with a 6-1 second set and pulled away in the third-set tiebreaker 10-5 to punch her ticket to the championship.

The final was the toughest test of Ava’s week. She struck first with a 6-4 opening set, but Sarah refused to go quietly, battling back to take a second-set tiebreaker 7-6 (3) and force a decider. With the title on the line, Ava steadied herself and found the edge she needed, closing out a 10-6 tiebreaker to claim the Girls’ 12s Bobby Curtis title.

Boys’ 14s

Selwyn Olufemi-Owoeye (Left), John Pollock (Right)

Top-seeded Selwyn Olufemi-Owoeye (Boca Raton) never gave the Boys’ 14s field much of an opening. He was firing all week and had a 6-4, 6-3 win over eighth-seeded Patrick Paun (Hallandale Beach) in the quarterfinals, then raised his level in the semifinals, racing past Tajesh Reddy Bomma (Wesley Chapel) 6-1, 6-2 to reach the final.

The story on the other side of the draw was unseeded John Pollock (Pinecrest), who took the hard road every step of the way. He advanced from the quarterfinals when second-seeded Simon Le (Tampa) was forced to retire with an injury, with John leading 6-1, 2-0. He then found himself in an intense match in the semifinals against 14th-seeded Hugo Adria Camargo Perez (Naples). John dropped a heartbreaking first-set tiebreaker 7-6 (7) but refused to fold, leveling the match with a 7-5 second set and surging through the third-set tiebreaker 10-6 to reach the championship.

The final proved a step too far against the tournament’s most in-form player. Selwyn came out sharp and stayed in control throughout, taking the first set 6-1 and closing the door with a 6-2 second set to complete an unbeaten week as the Boys’ 14s Bobby Curtis Champion.

Championship: Selwyn Olufemi-Owoeye (Boca Raton) d. John Pollock (Pinecrest) 6-1, 6-2

Emma Goth (Left), Vasiana Christopoulos (Right)

Top-seeded Emma Goth (Boca Raton) was a model of consistency all week. In the Quarterfinals, she had a 6-4, 6-1 win over fifth-seeded Lauren Chang (Winter Park), then stayed in command against 13th-seeded Alla Sadzius (Orlando) in the semifinals, taking a 6-2, 6-3 decision to reach the championship.

Tenth-seeded Vasiana Christopoulos (Tampa) provided the fireworks on the other half of the draw. She got past 16th-seeded Mercedes Laub (Boca Raton) 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals, then pulled off the upset of the round in the semifinals against second-seeded Vihana Thasen (Weston). Vasiana took a tense opening-set tiebreaker 7-6 (2), weathered a 6-0 second set, and steadied herself to win the deciding tiebreaker 10-5 and book her spot in the final.

The championship match was all Emma. She carried her week-long form straight into the final, taking control early and never letting Vasiana find a foothold. Emma rolled through the first set 6-2 and closed out a 6-1 second set to complete an amazing run as the Girls’ 14s Bobby Curtis Champion.
