Orange and Broward County Dominate Adult 55 & Over 7.0/9.0 Sectional Championships

Adult Leagues Adult Tennis News

It was a spectacular weekend of tennis as teams gathered for the Adult 55 & Over 7.0/9.0 Sectional Championships at the USTA National Campus, in Lake Nona.

It was a sweep on the Women’s side of the courts this weekend. In both the 7.0 and 9.0 divisions, Orange County dominated the competition, winning both. This marks the county’s third sectional win of the year for women’s tennis. Their 8.0 team also took home the sectional title and booked their spot at Nationals.

Over on the Men’s side of things, there were some great matches all weekend long. For the 7.0 draw, it was a battle of South Florida as Broward and Miami-Dade County were in the finals. It was an intense match, but Broward fought hard and earned a 2-1 championship win.

In the 9.0, it was Broward County once again who emerged victorious. They played some near-flawless tennis all weekend long and took down Hillsborough County in a close 2-1 match to take the 9.0 title.

Check out the full results from the championship match across each division. The winners have punched their spot at the USTA Adult League National Championships, taking place in November.
