USTA Florida will be serving up brand new episodes of the Here to Serve podcast series in October.

The Here to Serve series launched in April to keep the Florida tennis community updated about the organization’s return to play efforts amid the COVID-19 environment. Each episode features a question and answer session with the organization’s program directors about what is being done to re-imagine programs and play. Members of the state’s vast tennis community are invited and encouraged to share their ideas and thoughts.

Tentative schedule of upcoming topics:

Oct. 7th             Serve Tennis Sanctioning
With sanctioning now open and a new tournament structure, USTA Florida tournament support staff discuss how providers can apply for events in 2021 and what changes they need to be mindful of when submitting their requests.

Oct. 14th            Schools Tennis/PE
Schools are back and with students working in both virtual and in-person environments, what tools are available to help get kids active and moving with tennis? USTA Florida Community Play Coordinator Magali Holt gives an update on PE resources for teachers and parents.

Oct. 21st          LSA/FAU Virtual Adaptive Tennis
Love Serving Autism is excited to partner with the Florida Atlantic University Women’s Tennis Team to coach virtual adaptive tennis. Tune in as Lisa Pugliese-LaCroix, Founder of Love Serving Autism and Caroline Wheelen, FAU Women’s Tennis Coach, discuss the importance of community outreach for collegiate athletes to develop future leaders both on and off the tennis court.

Oct. 28th          Provider App Resources/Virtual Training
With the increased demand and need for virtual trainings and on-demand resources for providers and programs, USTA Florida Training and Quality Assurance Manager Lori Burdell & Marketing Manager Stefan Burnett discuss new provider resources and trainings available through the USTA Florida provider web page and revamped app.
