Naples’ Sanchez-Casal Academy to Host 2 New Senior, Super-Senior Tennis Tournaments

The Sanchez-Casal Academy will host two new ITF Grade 3 senior tournaments in October in Naples, Fla.

“These are the only tournaments in the U.S. in this category and will award ITF and USTA points,” says Tournament Coordinator Rogelio de Haro. “They are intended for Category I-II and sectional adult tournament players.”

The ITF Super-Senior Grade 3 tournament will be held on Oct. 2-6, 2017, for age groups 65-85+, while the ITF Senior Grade 3 event will be held on Oct. 23-27, 2017 for age groups 50-60+.

Players will be accepted into the main draw based on their ITF ranking first, then USTA rankings. Depending on the number of entries the events may hold qualifying tournaments prior to the main draw.

Academia Sanchez-Casal, managed by CEO and former world No. 1 doubles player Emilio Sanchez Vicario, is the largest tennis facility in Southwest Florida with 38 courts. The ITF Seniors Circuit consists of more than 380 tournaments staged in 72 countries on all continents, with approximately 25,000 players taking part each year.
