Junior Tournaments Youth Tennis News

Two junior tournaments, the annual Miami Junior Cup and a USTA Florida orange/green ball sectional qualifying tournament, will provide play opportunities for intermediate and advanced junior players in Miami later this month.

Played during the ATP/WTA Miami Open on Key Biscayne, the 2018 Miami Junior Cup will be held March 29-April 1.

“This tournament is showcasing orange- and green-division intermediate and advanced players, and is not a sanctioned tournament,” says USTA Florida Miami-area Tennis Service Representative Cathy Nordlund. “The trophy presentation will be made on stadium court at the Miami Open right before the start of the men’s final.”

Early rounds will be played at the Tamiami Tennis Center in Miami, and late rounds on-site at the Miami Open on Key Biscayne. The 2018 Miami Junior Cup is presented by the Miami Youth Sports Championship Series.

Played prior to the Miami Junior Cup will be the USTA Florida Friends of Miami Tennis Green and Orange Ball Qualifier for players age 10 and under on March 17-18 at the Tamiami Tennis Center in Miami. The tournament is a qualifier for the orange and green ball year-end section championships.
