Young professionals, weekend warriors and those just looking to make new friends through tennis are invited to participate in the four-week “Social Fun Meet & Greet” beginning Sept. 16, 2017 at the Ron Ehmann Tennis Center in Miami for players age 21-35 only.

“There are a lot of young players out there who don’t know how much fun league play can be,” says USTA Florida Local League Coordinator for the Miami area Donna Kass. “This is a small taste to get them hooked.”

The Sept. 17 kick-off Saturday welcomes all levels of play and will run from 4-6 p.m. All players will receive goodie bags with food and drinks available. The four-week Social Fun Meet & Greet schedule will be:

Week 1 — Sept. 16, Round Robin Meet & Greet
Week 2 — Sept. 30, Fun, Fast-Pace Tennis Games
Week 3 — Oct. 14, High-Energy Fitness
Week 4 — Oct. 28, Tournament/Party Time!

The program is part of the USTA’s Young Adult Programming to provide young adults with social leagues of their own. According to the latest Tennis Participation Study, 18-29 year olds are the largest group of adults playing tennis, and more than half of young adults say they exercise regularly and are looking for fun exercise outlets.

The Ron Ehmann Tennis Center is operated by Friends of Miami Tennis, an official USTA Florida Community Tennis Association and not-for-profit corporation that promotes and grows tennis in South Florida. Friends of Miami Tennis also manages Tamiami Tennis, and JD Redd Tennis Center, and was the first tennis center in the country to have permanent 36-foot and 60-foot blended youth tennis lines on all of courts. The Ron Ehmann Tennis Center is located at 10995 SW 97th Ave. in Miami.
