Kids Activities, Net Generation Tennis at Orlando Pro Circuit Event Next Week

The USTA National Campus Pro Tennis Classic, a $15,000 USTA Pro Circuit event in Orlando, will showcase up-and-coming pros while celebrating all week with kids events at the Home of American Tennis, the USTA National Campus.

The 2018 USTA National Campus Pro Tennis Classic will be held March 4-11. Saturday, March 10, will feature Net Generation Kids’ Day from 10-11 a.m. Parents can register children for the event that includes on-court games, tennis and more at https://goo.gl/forms/YHbVAMtCOBqOyf9T2.

“Schools to the National Campus” during the week will bring area school children to take part in on-court activities at the Family Zone courts, and to receive tours of the USTA National Campus. Moss Park Elementary, Lake Nona High School, and Lake Nona H.S. adaptive classes will take part on March 7-9.

Prior to the Sunday final on March 11, a Red Ball Team Challenge will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

New this year, USTA Pro Circuit tournaments feature Net Generation, where local children at tournaments are given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in pre-match coin tosses, escort players to the court prior to matches, or play tennis during on-court Net Generation demonstrations.

The $15,000 USTA National Campus Pro Tennis Classic will feature American Usue Maitane Arconada as the top seed, joined by fellow Americans Sophie Chang, Maria Mateas, Katerina Stewart, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Rogers, world No. 1 junior and U.S. Junior Fed Cup team member Whitney Osuigwe, Alexandra Mueller and U.S. Junior Fed Cup team member Caty McNally.

The tournament is free and open to the public throughout the week.
