Adult Leagues Adult Tennis News

Beginning tennis players will have a new social play opportunity in Jacksonville beginning this April when JaxParks and USTA Florida team to introduce the JaxParks Social Tennis League.

The league for men and women will begin on April 17 or 19, held Tuesdays or Thursdays, depending on registrations at four public park sites. The league will be comprised of four weekly one-hour clinics, followed by two match-play days during the first two weeks of May.

“The last match date will include an end-of-league party for all participants,” says USTA Florida Jacksonville Local League Coordinator Carson Phillips. “Once we get all reservations in, we will be able to designate the evening, whether it be a Tuesday or Thursday starting at 6 p.m.”

Public JaxParks court sites for players to choose from will be Boone Park, C.T. Brown, Southside Tennis Center and the new Baymeadows Regional center.

“We’re excited to join with USTA Florida to offer the many benefits of tennis,” says JaxParks Lead Tennis Professional Harrell Thomas. “Sign up to learn to play, and create new tennis friends in a group setting.”

The all-inclusive $85 fee will cover instruction, court fees, balls and year-end celebration for the six weeks.

USTA Florida adult social leagues and play events stress fun and social tennis over competitive play. No USTA membership is required.
