The 18-39 age group now has their own USTA League, and that tennis league will be coming to Jacksonville, Fla., for the first time this fall.

The new 9A/Baymeadows Regional Park tennis facility, which features both clay and hard courts, will host a Tennis Open House on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 3:30-5:30 p.m., welcoming all players age 18-39.

The event is sponsored by Jax City Parks and USTA Florida, and is free for 18-39 age participants.

“We will have tennis and lots of other fun tennis activities, and men and women players can receive information on the wonderful fall league opportunity,” says USTA Florida Local League Coordinator Carson Phillips. “Bring your racquet, and balls and light refreshments will be provided.”

In addition to tennis, court activities will include mini-tennis, Cardio Tennis, King/Queen of the Court and more.

The 18-39 Tennis Open House event will lead into a fall Jacksonville league beginning in October and ending before Thanksgiving. Teams can play out of the 9A/Baymeadows, Southside Tennis, and Boone Park complexes. Teams will be comprised of two men and two women, and the modified World TeamTennis format will include singles, doubles and mixed doubles. USTA membership will not be required.

The 9A/Baymeadows Regional Park tennis facility is located at 8000 Baymeadows Road East in Jacksonville.

The Aug. 26 kick-off event is free, but participants must register in advance.  Click here to register today!
