Florida Tennis Players Raise Toys, Holiday Cheer at TOPS’L

General News

Tennis players in the Florida Panhandle came together the second week in December to make the holidays brighter for some local children in need.

TOPS’L Beach & Racquet Resort hosted its annual TOPS’L Charity Toys for Tots tennis event on Dec. 9, 2016, where 32 players participated in a round robin format, with an entry fee of one unwrapped toy.

“Special guest Marine Staff Sergeant Meadows came by to say thanks, but more importantly we could say thanks to him for serving our country,” said TOPS’L Director of Tennis Joe D’Aleo.

“The event was followed by a Christmas party at our TOPS’L Club Tiki. We raised approximately 200 toys including bikes over the course of a couples of weeks, with many of our members contributing even if they did not play in the tennis event. All the toys stay in our local area, with is great for all the families in need this time of the year during the holidays.”
