Sarasota Joey Gratton Charity Tennis Tournament is a USTA Pro Circuit Qualifier

Joey Gratton logoThe Joey Gratton Championships, a charity doubles event with proceeds to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs, will be held on March 31-April 3, 2016 at the Bath & Racquet Fitness Club in Sarasota, Fla.

The event is also a pre-qualifier for the Sarasota Open, a USTA Pro Circuit event, as the men’s open doubles winner will receive a wild card into the Sarasota Open qualifying.

Divisions for the Joey Gratton Championships are men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

The event also includes a Players’ Party, and division winners will receive VIP tickets to the Sarasota Open Joey Gratton Night and on-court recognition.

“Joey was an avid tennis player, boat racer and human being,” says tournament organizer Scott Schuhriemen. “He was often the captain of our league teams down here and seemed to know at least someone everywhere he went. He passed away in the world racing championships in 2011. This is a fun weekend at Bath and Racquet for all levels of play to benefit Joey’s foundation.”
