Florida Athletes Battle Weather at Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships

As the summer weather rolled in, USTA Florida brought high-level competition to the USTA National Campus for the Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships. Every court stayed active through the sun and rain, with tight matches and strong doubles play throughout the weekend. 

Mixed doubles follows the standard USTA League format, pairing one male and one female on each team. Teams compete by combined NTRP rating. For example, two 4.0 players compete in the 8.0 division. This structure creates balanced matchups and rewards consistency across all three courts. 

Four divisions took the stage: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0. From the weather delays to the intense rallies, teams battled it out and delivered in key moments. Here’s how the weekend shaped out.
