Evert Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic for Charity Targets 29th Year in November

General News Charity Event

Chris Evert will continue her campaign to combat drug abuse and child neglect in South Florida when she hosts the 29th annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic fundraiser on Nov. 9-11, 2018, in Boca Raton, Fla.

“The Chris Evert Charities/Raymond James partnership has a long history of making an impact in the South Florida community,” Evert says. “Our continued association assures a bright future for at-risk children and their families as we continue to raise funds to combat drug abuse and child neglect.”

Evert, the 18-time Grand Slam champion, started Chris Evert Charities soon after her retirement from professional tennis in 1989. The charity has raised more than $24 million, including $800,000 in 2017.

“Drug abuse is a national epidemic,” says Evert. “It tears apart families and we don’t have to look far to see its devastation in our own South Florida community.”

Evert will be joined at the event by a lineup of former tennis pros and sports and entertainment celebrities, many who return annually to help support the cause. The Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic fundraising weekend includes a Pro-Am, Cocktail Party, Charity Gala and two days of pro-celebrity tennis.
