Day 2 Blog: Florida 18 & Over Open Tennis Team at USTA League Nationals

Adult Leagues

Adelaide Wood is blogging for USTA Florida from Las Vegas where her team is competing at the USTA National Open 18 & Over League Championships on Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Darling Tennis Center.

Day 2: Let the games begin..

As we rolled out of our king size beds and got our caffeine hit, we prepared for the matches ahead. We met in the lobby and excitement filled us when we saw how cute we all looked in our matching La Freak dresses!

“When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you play good!” – Redfoo.

We got to the courts and had a good warm up. How ironic that a bunch of players who were once collegiate rivals had come together to represent and fight for Florida.

Our opponents included Texas and Midwest. The day proved challenging with half of our matches being decided with a 10 point tiebreak, with a difference of 2 point endings. A great day of high quality tennis, enough to make our legs cramp. We ended our long day at the ranch with ice baths and stretching #prehab

We look forward to our upcoming matches — bring on day 2! #letsgofreaks
