USTA Florida is excited to announce classes and programming will resume at the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center on Monday, July 27, 2020, under newly announced head tennis professional Travis Tressler. All classes and programs will closely follow the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center’s safe play guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants.
“Participant safety is paramount in all USTA Florida programs and classes,” says Frank Swope, USTA Florida Director of Tennis Management. “We have redesigned our classes and programs to limit group size and incorporate social distancing, added no-touch ball pick-up protocols, and restructured cleaning regimens. We are entirely focused on our players being able to safely enjoy their experience.”
One of the offerings will be a back to school camp for children ages 6 to 10 that will run from July 27-Aug. 7. The camp will focus on tennis instruction from USPTA certified coaches. Registration is limited so interested participants are encouraged to register early.

The Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center has also added two bi-weekly classes for middle school players and teenagers, a weekly clinic for women, and a bi-weekly group play for tennis and pickleball enthusiasts.
“One of the most important things that I hope to do at this facility is to continue introducing the game to new players in the area,” says Tressler. “Tennis is an amazing sport and I’m very passionate about introducing new people to tennis and helping them develop a love for the sport.”

Class and program participants as well as parents are asked to review the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center’s safe play guidelines for preparation, during play, and after play safety. These protocols have been carefully developed to ensure compliance with state and local public health requirements.
