Cancellation of the 2026 Spring USTA Florida JTT State Championship (July 18-19)

Dear Junior Team Tennis families, players, and coaches,

USTA Florida regrets to inform you that the 2026 Spring USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis State Championship, scheduled for July 18-19 in Lakeland, has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The forecast calls for thunderstorms and heavy rain throughout the weekend.

This decision was not made lightly. The safety and experience of our players, families, and coaches remain our highest priority, and after closely monitoring the forecast, we determined that the conditions would not allow us to hold the championship safely or to the standard our participants deserve. We know how much anticipation surrounded this event. With 30 teams and more than 150 players registered, the preparation, energy, and excitement were tremendous, and Junior Team Tennis holds a proud tradition in Lakeland. We are grateful for the commitment of everyone involved. We are sharing this decision as early as possible so that you can adjust your plans accordingly. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause.

Please note the following:

• All registration fees will be refunded in full through MatchApp, the registration platform, within 14 days.
• If you made your own travel or lodging arrangements, we encourage you to cancel or modify them as soon as possible.
• USTA Florida hopes to reschedule this championship later this year.
  • A follow-up email will be sent in the coming days requesting your input so that we can accommodate as many families as possible.
