Kainoa was born and raised in Hawaii and is a Native Hawaiian but moved to Seattle when he was six years old. He has been working in the tennis business since he was 13 and each career milestone has involved tennis to some extent. Currently, he serves as the Director of Racquet Sports at the Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club where Kainoa oversees all aspects of the Racquets & Wellness operation.
He joins the Board as a new Director at Large for 2023-2024. Kainoa is a USPTA Elite Professional and Certified Director of Racquet Sports. He also graduated from the USTA Florida Leadership Academy in 2022. In his free time, you can find him on the beach, travelling, fishing, but most importantly spending time with his wife and daughter.

- Favorite tennis memory: From my senior year of collegiate tennis. Before my final match as a senior, I was in a car accident the day prior that threatened to pull me out. After a great deal of discussions and finally getting cleared to play by my coach and trainer, I thought “This is the final match of your career, just try and finish it!”. The match was a battle but by the end of a three-hour duel, I ended up upsetting a nationally ranked player and finishing on the highest note of my career. Some things are just meant to be!
