Approximately 80 children competed in orange- and green-ball divisions during the 5th Miami Junior Cup @ the Miami Open, which saw tennis juniors competing at the Tamiami Tennis Center, with quarterfinal action and beyond contested alongside the pros at the Miami Open, March 29-April 1, 2018.

“The final was on the Stadium Court in Crandon Park right before the men’s final of the Miami Open,” said USTA Florida Tennis Program Coordinator Cathy Nordlund. “We look forward to continuing this tradition next year when the tournament moves to Miami Gardens and the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium.

“I heard many of our spectators express they astonishment at the abilities of our young players. Having the children using the appropriate court size, racquet size and balls enables them to have fun and learn great technique and this young age.”
