Summer Heats Up with High-Level Action at the Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships

As summer settles in and the days grow longer, USTA Florida turned up the heat with the Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships at the USTA National Campus. The competition was fierce, the energy electric, and the tennis nothing short of top-tier. 

Mixed doubles play follows the standard USTA League format, but—each team features one male and one female player. The competition groups were 6.0 and above, competitors played in divisions based on combined NTRP ratings, meaning a pair of 4.0 players, for example, would compete in the 8.0 division. 

Across the four divisions in play —6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0—, all of them were decided with a 2-1 championship score. Whether it was a late comeback or dominance for a certain line, there was plenty buzzing at the courts. Let’s see how the action played out.
