MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation Receives $15,000 Return the Serve Grant
The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation (MWYF) was selected as a recipient of the Chase Return the Serve program grant, presented by the USTA Foundation, the charitable arm of the United States Tennis Association. MWYF is one of just 13 National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapters nationwide to receive part of the $350,000 grant, which supports tennis, education, and life skills programming for youth in underserved communities.

This year marks the 12th consecutive year of the USTA Foundation’s partnership with Chase, which has now invested over $2 million into NJTL chapters across the United States. Additionally, all of the recipients will be or already hosted hosting a Return the Serve Fun Day in various cities throughout the United States.
As part of the award, MWYF hosted its Return the Serve Fun Day at its Jacksonville-based facility on Friday, July 11. The event, held for MWYF’s more than 200 current campers, featured energetic tennis activities, crafts, music, and much more.

“We’re excited to receive this grant again,” said Terri Florio, Executive Director of the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation. “The grant will fund the event as well as provide additional support for our tennis program.” The MWYF received $15,000 from Return the Serve program grant.
MWYF continues to be a leader in using tennis as a vehicle for youth empowerment in the Jacksonville area. With the help from grants provided by the USTA Foundation and USTA Florida Foundation, the organization remains committed to helping kids reach their full potential—on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
