Longtime USTA Florida Volunteer Donn Davis Recognized with Edward A. Turville President’s Award
Longtime USTA Florida volunteer and leader Donn Davis was presented with the Edward A. Turville President’s Award during the closing session of the first-ever USTA Florida Tennis Summit, held November 14–16. The award recognizes his sustained leadership, advocacy, and commitment to growing the game across the state.
“We don’t do what we do for recognition or awards,” Davis said. “We do it to give back to this great sport that we all love.”

The Edward A. Turville President’s Award is among the Foundation’s highest honors for volunteer service and leadership. Davis’s decades of service exemplify the spirit of volunteerism that underpins the Foundation’s mission to expand access to tennis, support local programs, and steward philanthropic resources in service of resilient, inclusive communities.
“I’ve been doing this for USTA Florida for 25 years. I came here from a community tennis association, and you heard me say that earlier today, which is where grassroots tennis really starts, at the local level,” Davis added. “What we’re doing here this weekend is driving what we do down to the local level.”
Davis currently serves on the USTA Florida Foundation Board and previously served as president of the USTA Florida Foundation Board. A member of the Foundation Board since 2012, he has chaired multiple committees and routinely acted as a board liaison, helping guide program priorities, grant decisions, and volunteer development initiatives that strengthen community tennis programs and public facilities.

The first-ever USTA Florida Tennis Summit brought together coaches, volunteers, providers, and organizational leaders under the theme “Florida Tennis: Big, Bold Moves,” and the recognition of Donn Davis with the Edward A. Turville President’s Award underscored the vital role of leadership, collaboration, and advocacy in shaping a stronger, more inclusive future for tennis across the state.
