Join The Coaching Movement: Host a Community Coach Training

Community Tennis News

Across Florida, USTA Florida has been on a mission to empower communities by growing the next generation of tennis coaches. Through its Community Coach Program, more than 15 coach training sessions have already been held statewide in 2025, but the work isn’t done.

As the organization looks toward the second half of the year, USTA Florida is encouraging tennis providers, public parks, schools, and facilities to host their own coach training events and make a lasting impact on the sport in their community.

These fun, interactive workshops are designed to give people the skills and confidence to lead engaging and inclusive tennis experiences as coaches. Whether you’re a longtime tennis player or someone passionate about helping others, there’s a training program for you. No prior coaching experience is required, just a love for the game and a desire to give back.

The Community Coach Program offers training in a wide range of areas to meet the needs of local communities, including:

  • Cardio Tennis
  • High School/Middle School
  • Love Serving Autism
  • Orange & Green Ball
  • Red Ball
  • Adult Beginner: Love to Learn, Play, and Roll
  • Summer Camp
  • Wheelchair Tennis

There is a growing need for trained coaches in Florida, especially on public courts where many begin their tennis journey. Since its launch, the Community Coach Program has trained over 1,400 coaches, with more than 330 coming this year.

By hosting a training in your community, you’re helping add to this, and open the door for more kids, adults, and adaptive athletes to access quality tennis programming.

These workshops are not just educational, they’re a chance to build a community around tennis, connect with others, and inspire the next generation of players. Most importantly, they show that anyone can be a coach, and everyone has something to contribute.

If you’re ready to make a difference, consider hosting a Community Coach Workshop at your local facility. USTA Florida will provide the tools and support, all you need to do is say yes. Learn more and apply to host a training at ustaflorida.com/cpp.
