Hillsborough County’s Peter Adler named USTA Florida Tennis Volunteer of the Month
USTA Florida is proud to honor Peter Adler as the May Volunteer of the Month. A dedicated Junior Team Tennis coach and passionate supporter of tennis for all, Peter’s commitment to the game and the youth that play it has made a lasting impact on his community.
Peter recently wrapped up his fourth season volunteering as the coach of a Hillsborough County USTA Junior 14 and Under team, where his Temple Terrace squad finished first in the league this spring.

He loves to coach these kids because it allows him to give back to the community and watch these players grow in the sport. “It’s extremely rewarding investing in others,” he said. “You definitely get back more from volunteering than you ever give, and your investment can make a difference not only now, but for future generations.”
Through Junior Team Tennis, Peter has also helped parents grow alongside their children. From teaching them how to be respectful spectators to guiding them through the emotional ups and downs of junior tennis, he’s created a positive, supportive atmosphere for families to thrive. “I consider Junior Team Tennis an important part of helping me fulfill my calling as a professional coach,” he said.
But Peter’s passion for giving back doesn’t stop there. For the past two years, he’s volunteered in a program that provides tennis classes for U.S. veterans with disabilities. Teaching bi-weekly sessions, Peter sees firsthand how tennis can be a source of encouragement and joy for those who have served. “They’ve sacrificed so much for me, that when I had the opportunity to show my appreciation through teaching a tennis class, my yes was immediately on the table,” he said. “I’ve seen how the game of tennis can provide great encouragement for veterans.”
USTA Florida recognizes and celebrates Peter for his impactful contributions to Junior Team Tennis and Veteran tennis in the Tampa area.
