Florida Pros and Juniors Headline Star-Studded US Open Lineup

Pro Tennis

The final Grand Slam of the year is here, and Florida tennis will be front and center at the 2025 US Open in New York. With a strong lineup of professional and junior players, USTA Florida is proud to support a talented group competing on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

Led by the highest ranked Florida player in both the ATP and WTA is Coco Gauff, who sits at No. 3 entering the US Open. Back in 2023, Gauff won her first Grand Slam of her young career, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and will be looking for her second of the year after winning the French Open earlier.

The highest-ranking Men’s player and one of tennis’ rising stars, Ben Shelton enters the Grand Slam fresh off his first ATP Masters 1000 win. His young career jumpstarted in 2023 at the US Open where he made it all the way to the semifinals, before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.

Another top ranked player from Florida is Amanda Anisimova, who sits at No. 9 in the WTA. At Wimbledon, Anisimova went on a crazy run, making it all the way to championship. Building off that, she will look to use the homecourt advantage in her favor as she begins her run at her first career Grand Slam.

Two other veterans from Florida on the Men’s side, include Sebastian Korda and Reilly Opelka. Korda has been one of Florida’s top players in recent years and is looking to add a title to a year filled with ups and downs. On the other side, Opelka, who stands at 6’11” will look to break into the quarterfinals at the event for the first time in his career.

Austin Krajicek, the Doubles specialist and former French Open doubles champion, will take the courts in Flushing. His experience and lefty serve make him a threat in the Grand Slam.

Rounding out the Men’s draw are two rookies. Darwin Blanch, fresh off his USTA Boy’s 18s National Championship win in Kalamazoo, earned a wild card into the main draw. The 17-year-old from Florida is making his Grand Slam debut.

Rounding out the Women is the Doubles expert, Nicole Melichar-Martinez. She returns as one of the top American doubles player and is a former Grand Slam finalist.
