What Is the USTA Florida Public Tennis Park Fellowship?
The USTA Florida Public Tennis Park Fellowship is a two-year, full-time development program for tennis enthusiast. Fellows gain real-world experience in public park tennis operations and community recreation leadership.
You’ll rotate through USTA Florida-managed facilities, learning everything from event planning and facility management to budgeting and community engagement.

Year 1

+Fellows will be required to travel between USTA Florida Managed Facilities frequently during designated semesters for several months at a time.+
Business of Park Management
Year 2
- Facility Budgeting & Capital Planning
- Public vs Private Facility Methodology
- City Relationships, Contracts & Financial Reporting
- Staff Development & Recruiting
- Will acquire Level 2 tennis teaching certification
- Facility Tennis Programming
- Includes but not limited to: Adaptive, Wheelchair, Community, Adults, Junior, etc.
- Facility Long Term Planning & Recruitment
- Business & Site Evaluation
- Advocacy
Fellowship Program Pay & Incentives
This Fellowship is a full-time education & development program for tennis enthusiast. Fellows get compensated while gaining real-world experience in public park tennis operations and community recreation leadership.
- Entry Point is $17.10 per hour
- 90-day period completion – Health benefits eligible or stipend.
- 6 Month completion – Bonus for successful work = $500
- One-Year Completion – Pay Raise to $20 per hour and $1,000. 401K eligible.
- 18 month completion – $500 bonus and pay increase to $22 per hour
- 24 month completion – $1,000 bonus.
- May promote as FT employee, based on competency. Pay follows position grade.
