Adult 40 & Over 3.0/4.0/5.0 Sectional League Championship

Sectional Regulations Team Eligibility 2.03A(5): The minimum number of required team members in the Adult 40 & Over is seven (7) for all NTRP levels.  All teams MUST have 7 eligible team members to combine and compete for their FIRST scheduled Sectional Championship match.  This requirement cannot be waived.  Entry fees will not be refunded to teams that withdraw after the tournament schedule is first published.

National Regulations Player Eligibility 2.03A(3): In the Adult and Mixed Divisions, a player is eligible to progress to championship level competition below National Championships if that player has played on the same team in at least two (2) matches at the same NTRP level in the same Age Group during its local league season and is otherwise eligible. A maximum of one (1) default received by the player during local league competition shall count for advancing. Retired matches shall count toward advancing for all players involved in both USTA League Divisions.

Team Captain Phone Conference:

  • Wednesday, July 14th at 7:00 PM (Eastern Time).

A call-in number will be sent to the captain under separate email. The captain or a team representative is required to be on one of the calls. 


Team Captain Packet Pickup:

Saturday July 17th, 2021

  • Tournament Desk
  • Pickup will start at 9:00 AM
  • Captain’s will receive their team shirts and flight schedules (Player Guides available upon request).

General & Match Play Information:

Rain Date (if necessary): Tuesday, July 20th, 2021

Tournament Director: Desirae McLaughlin

Scoring: Section Reg 2.03C Scoring, Rest and Suspended Play. All matches played at the USTA Florida Sectional Championships shall be the best of two tiebreak sets with a set tiebreak (using the Coman tiebreak procedure) at 6-all.  In the event of split sets, a match tiebreak (using the Coman tiebreak procedure) shall be played in lieu of a third set.

Umpires: There are roving umpires present at all championship sites. Roving umpires may be positioned inside the fenced areas and will interfere with play as little as possible. Players should be encouraged to play tennis without the need for umpires to be present. In the case of disputed calls and upon the request of the player, a roving umpire may be requested to observe a portion of the match

Court Surface: Clay: Women 4.0 / Men 3.0 / Men 4.0

Hard: Women 3.0 / Men 5.0 / Women 5.0

Coaching: No coaching allowed.

Trainer: There will be a trainer on-site to assist with athletic injuries. They will have access to ice.

Awards:  Winners and Finalist must report to the tournament desk for award distribution and team picture following their final match.
