Adult Leagues Adult Tennis News

The 2025 USTA Adult League National Championships began on October 10 and have officially came to a close on November 10. There were tons of divisions and age groups in play as teams traveled to compete across the country in Arizona, California, and Florida. During the first half of Nationals, USTA Florida had two winners, and another team has added to this number. Let’s take a look at how the second half of the National Championships went for Florida as Broward captured a title.

Adult 55 & Over 9.0 Men’s Championship – Broward County

The Broward County squad from David Park Tennis Center, came into the Adult 55 & Over 9.0 Men’s Championship with their eyes set on winning it all. In pool play, they had the ball rolling with a dominant showing. They were hot, winning all four of their matches, only dropping two lines in those matches and secured the second seed heading into the championship draw.

In the semifinals, USTA Florida went against a strong USTA Southern California team. It was a very competitive match as both sections are known for strong play. Florida was able to take the top line as well as the second line to clinch a 2-1 win and move into the championship.

The finals were set as the Sunshine State representatives matched against USTA Southern. These two powerhouses left everything on the courts in this final match. Southern entered the championship without dropping a single line in pool play or the semis. However, the top line of Ricardo Rubi and Jorge Ramirez for Florida ended that streak, taking the top line. Southern answered back with a win on Line 2, but it was Javier Martinez and Sebastian Covos on Line 3 who pulled out a strong tiebreaker win to secure the championship for USTA Florida.
