Florida’s own Ben Shelton has been named to the USA Davis Cup Team for the upcoming second-round qualifying competition taking place on September 12 and 13 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
Ranked No. 6 in the world, Shelton has been one of tennis’ biggest rising stars the past few years and recently won his first ATP Masters 1000 singles event. A former NCAA champion at the University of Florida, and Grand Slam semifinalist, Shelton has been leading the way alongside some other great American Talent.

Joining Shelton on the squad are:
- Taylor Fritz: Top ranked American man at No. 4. This will be his eleventh time competing in the Davis Cup.
- Frances Tiafoe: Current No. 14 in singles and will be making his sixth Davis Cup appearance.
- Tommy Paul: Current No. 16 in singles and has played in 10 Davis Cups.
The team will be captained by Bob Bryan, who continues to guide the U.S. squad with experience and energy.
The action is set for September 12–13. The matchup will feature a best-of-five format with two singles matches on Friday evening and a doubles match followed by two singles matches on Saturday afternoon. The winning nation will advance to the Davis Cup Final 8, held November 18–23 in Bologna, Italy.
Shelton’s inclusion marks another milestone in his fast-rising career and gives Florida tennis fans a reason to rally behind Team USA. With a strong lineup and momentum heading into the September competition, the team will look to secure its spot in the Davis Cup Final 8 and compete for the world title.
