Florida’s Coco Gauff, Caty McNally get US Open Doubles Wild Card

Pro Tennis

Affectionately known as #McCoco during their previous team play, Coco Gauff and Caty McNally will get a chance to play doubles at the US Open and potentially add to their winning streak together.

Gauff, the 15-year-old tennis phenom from Delray Beach, and McNally, a 17-year-old from Ohio, were granted a doubles wild card by the United States Tennis Association on Saturday.

Each had already received a wild card for the singles main draw as well.

Gauff and McNally won a US Open junior title in doubles a year ago. Earlier this month, the duo won the doubles title at the WTA Citi Open in Washington, D.C. It was the first career WTA title for each.

The 2019 US Open is a first for Gauff, but her second career Grand Slam event. She made a run to the fourth round of Wimbledon in July after becoming the youngest qualifier in the tournament’s history.

Gauff is currently No. 140 in the WTA rankings. McNally sits at No. 121 in the rankings.
