Florida tennis fans will not have to travel far to watch one of the best players in the world represent her country this fall.
Coco Gauff is coming home. The Delray Beach native, two-time Grand Slam singles champion and current world No. 4, will lead the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team against Hungary on November 21 and 22 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the same courts where she grew up around the game.
The matchup is a Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Playoff, and the stakes are straightforward. The winner moves back into the Qualifying pool with a chance to compete for the 2027 championship. Billie Jean King Cup is the World Cup of women’s tennis, and for two days in November the competition runs through Palm Beach County.
A Venue That Has Been Good to Florida
Delray Beach has become something close to a fortress for American team tennis. The U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team has never lost there, carrying a 4-0 record all time at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. The most recent win came in 2023, when Gauff and Jessica Pegula led a sweep of Austria in front of near sell-out crowds.
The venue has also proven its value to the community beyond the scoreboard. When Delray Beach hosted a Davis Cup qualifying competition between the U.S. and Czechia last September, the event generated more than $2 million for the local economy.
How the Weekend Works
Saturday features two singles matches between each country’s top two nominated players. Sunday opens with doubles, followed by two more singles matches to decide the tie. The first nation to win three of the five matches takes the Playoff, which means Sunday’s schedule can be shortened if either side clinches early.
Both the USA and Hungary will name as many as five players to their rosters, with full teams announced on October 21. The American side is captained by International Tennis Hall of Famer Lindsay Davenport, who guided the U.S. to the Billie Jean King Cup final in 2025.
How to Get Tickets
Two-day ticket packages are available now through Ticketmaster starting at $50. Single-day tickets for Saturday or Sunday start at $35.
