USTA Florida is bringing the one-Day Development Camp for Diverse Backgrounds to Fort Myers, where the Three Oaks Tennis Center will host the fourth and last camp of 2017 on Nov. 11 from 9-4 p.m.
Sloane Stephens, the 2017 US Open champion, along with current professional players Victoria Duval and Sachia Vickery attended the camp as junior tennis players.
The one-day camp provides a one-of-a-kind experience for junior competitive players ages 12-18 who want to improve as tennis players while also learning about college scholarship opportunities, tournament and additional support opportunities, and the latest physical training techniques. USTA Florida Development Camps are a special opportunity to train hard, have fun, and form lasting friendships.
“I am very excited to bring the Diversity Camp back to Ft. Myers for the second year in a row,” says USTA Florida Player Development Coordinator Andy Gladstone. “We are hoping to finish the year with great participation of players from all over Florida and making a positive impact in their tennis, physical and mental skills.”
The day includes lunch, a t-shirt, game-based drills, match play, a discussion on college tennis opportunities and more. Cost for the one-day camps is $54.25, and financial assistance is available.
Participants should have USTA tournament experience, and high school and middle school players are encouraged to attend. Players must be a minimum 12 years of age. The registration deadline is Nov.9.
