Crandon Park Tennis Center Welcomes New Leadership and Expanded Fall Programming

The Crandon Park Tennis Center continues to build momentum as USTA Florida operates the facility, with key staff updates and an exciting lineup of fall programming on the horizon.

Alex Rodriguez Promoted to Director of Operations

Alex Rodriguez has been promoted to Director of Operations at the Crandon Park Tennis Center. Rodriguez joined the organization in February as Building and Operations Manager and quickly made his mark, diving into every aspect of the facility’s day-to-day operations. Whether it was streamlining court reservations and bookings or tackling hands-on projects like lighting and building repairs, Rodriguez approached each task with a relentless work ethic and a can-do attitude that elevated the entire team around him, making sure Crandon remains a Best-in-Class facility.

Originally from Miami Springs, Rodriguez brings more than 15 years of experience in parks and recreation, sports operations and leadership to the role. His background includes serving as Academy Director and International Scouting Supervisor for the Washington Nationals in the Dominican Republic, where he managed facility operations, athletic programming, staff supervision, budgeting and compliance while working in a multicultural environment. Rodriguez also has professional experience as a Registered Representative with New York Life. He holds a Corporate MBA from Florida International University and earned bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Recreation and Sport Management from FIU. He is also a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), the national standard for all parks and recreation professionals.

His ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff and city partners has been instrumental in strengthening the relationship between USTA Florida and the local community. In his new role, Rodriguez will lead USTA Florida’s operations in Miami as the organization continues to expand its footprint and build toward a long-term partnership with the city.

“I am honored and humbled for this experience and excited to take on this new role. My focus is simple, to continue building Crandon Park Tennis Center into a best-in-class facility where everyone of all playing levels is welcome,” he said. “Whether it is your first time picking up a racket or you are coming to our clinics, I want to ensure that everyone is having the best experience possible.”

Rebeca Molina de la Rosa Joins as Tennis Center Programs and Play Manager

With Rodriguez’s promotion, USTA Florida has welcomed Rebeca Molina de la Rosa as the new Crandon Park Tennis Center Programs and Play Manager. The role has been reframed to focus on facilitating a broad range of programs and play, including team play, competition, community programming and other opportunities that serve the Key Biscayne and greater Miami community.

Originally from Mexico City, Molina de la Rosa brings a truly international perspective to the position. She has lived in Cancun, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, Rome and Miami, and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch. She began playing tennis at age five and competed through her early twenties, working alongside coaches and club owners to organize local and international tournaments in Mexico City before continuing to play competitively in Cancun while attending law school.

Molina de la Rosa holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Mexico and two master’s degrees, including an LL.M. in International Sports Law from ISDE in Spain and an LL.M. in U.S. Law from Florida International University. Her professional experience includes work with some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including the Miami Open, the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome and the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship, supporting tournament operations and player services.

“It is an honor to join USTA Florida and the team at Crandon Park, one of Miami’s most iconic tennis venues,” she said. “Tennis has always had a special place in my heart, and I am excited to be part of this amazing project and host more tournaments and local programs to grow our tennis community so people can experience and enjoy the sport in this paradise.”

Fall Programming at Crandon Park

As the summer season winds down, the Crandon Park Tennis Center is gearing up for an exciting fall lineup of programming for players of all ages and skill levels.

Young players can start their tennis journey with Red Ball 1 (ages 4-5) and Red Ball 2 (ages 6-7), while the Junior Clinic serves ages 8-12 and the Teen Clinic welcomes players 13 and up. All four programs are built for beginners, using games, drills and age-appropriate equipment to build fundamentals from day one.

Adults have plenty to choose from as well. The Adult Beginner Clinic offers a relaxed, welcoming environment for those brand new to the sport or returning after a long break. The Instant Clinic is built for 3.0-3.5 players looking to sharpen their consistency and shot selection, while the Advanced Clinic challenges 4.0-4.5 competitors with tactical drills and fast-paced live-ball play.

Two brand-new additions round out the fall schedule. The Seniors Clinic, designed for players 65 and up, offers a low-pressure, social environment for those new to the game or easing back into it. Hitting Frenzy, a drop-in session for 3.0+ players, delivers continuous rally-based point play and quick rotations for players who want to compete and keep moving.

Crandon also offers its popular Love 2 Learn and Love 2 Play Friday series, six-week programs that provide a structured pathway into the sport. Love 2 Learn is accessible to all players, including those who use a wheelchair, and every new participant receives a free racquet and t-shirt to start their journey.

Whether you are picking up a racquet for the first time or looking to take your game to the next level, Crandon has something for you this fall. Sign up here
