USTA Florida is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month this September with Spanish-language communications, and profiles of players and events throughout Central and South Florida.

USTA Florida celebrates the rich history and influence of the Hispanic culture on Florida tennis and promotes the participation of this growing community in tennis.

“Hispanic Heritage Month is a great celebration for our Hispanic community in Florida and what better way to do it than on the tennis courts,” says Maria Romo, diversity and marketing coordinator for USTA Florida. “Tennis brings people together from all places and allows families to find a healthy and fun activity that they can play no matter what age they are.”

USTA Florida will be hosting three Tenis para Todos Family Festivals to bring families together on the tennis courts as part of the Hispanic Outreach initiative launched since 2013. The FREE events will have family-friendly activities and program information for children and adults in each of the areas, and will feature black light tennis by XGLOsive at the Greater Naples YMCA, a new partner facility and NJTL chapter which seeks to provide play opportunities to under-served children in the area.
