USTA Junior Circuit – Star Island Resort’s One-Day Green Ball Fest
FAQs about this weekend’s tournament – Green Ball
What time will the tournament start? The first matches typically start between 8 or 9 am, but that doesn’t mean you will. Start time are very dependent on the number of players in the tournament and in your specific draw. I can’t answer this question until we have completed taking entries, compiled the draws, and the draws are officially posted.
How will I know when the draws have been posted? Typically, the draws are posted on Friday morning by 11AM. Please do not call, text, or email prior to this time asking for your match times. If we haven’t posted it, it’s because it isn’t finalized yet. When the draws are complete and posted we will send out an email to let you know.
What is the format? We can’t answer this one yet, it will vary by division, depending how many players are entered. It will be a round robin, non-elimination format, and we will get all the players as many opponents as possible within a reasonable time frame.
Do we combine divisions? Yes, but only when there are small draws. We want to get the kids as many opponents as possible within a reasonable amount of time, to give them experience playing multiple players with different playing styles. We will combine Boys with girls if there is a small number of entries in one of the divisions. This shouldn’t be a concern for players or parents, at this age the gender does not affect the outcome and girls win co-ed tournaments as often as the boys do!
I registered my child, but my card wasn’t charged. Your card will not be charged until after registration has closed. As long as you see their name on the Player list, their registration was accepted.
