2022 Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championship 

Friday-Sunday, June 24-27, 2022: USTA National Campus 

  • 7.0/9.0 Division scheduled Friday-Sunday, June 24-26, 2022 
  • 6.0/8.0 Division scheduled Saturday-Monday, June 25-27, 2022 

Mixed Divisions 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 Nationally Advancing 

FL Section regulation 2.03A(5)aTeam Eligibility and Entry Fees: The minimum number of required team members in the Tri-Level & Mixed. All teams MUST have 6 eligible team members to combine and compete for their FIRST scheduled Invitational match. This requirement cannot be waived. Entry fees will not be refunded to teams that withdraw after the tournament schedule is first published.

Team Entry Deadline: Tuesday, June 14, 2021 (Minimum of 6 players registered, must include 3 Men and 3 Women)

 A Q & A conference will be scheduled for: 

  • Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 7:00 PM (Eastern Time).   

Captains may email questions prior to the Q&A. A call-in number will be sent in a separate email.      


Team Captain Check-in: 

Begins Friday, June 24, 2022 at 9:00AM 

  • USTA National Campus  
  • Check In will begin at 9:00AM 
  • Captains will receive their Packet and Team T-Shirts.   
  • Please be on-site at least 30-45 minutes before your FIRST scheduled match time. 

General & Match Play Information: 

The Championship is a 3-day event for each division.  

Rain Date (if necessary): 6.0/8.0 Divisions: No rain date 

Facility: USTA National Campus in Lake Nona 

Tournament Director: Christine Ducey 

Scoring:  FL Section Regulation 2.03C(1) – Scoring, Rest and Suspended Play. All matches played at the USTA Florida Sectional Championships shall be the best of two tiebreak sets with a set tiebreak (using the Coman tiebreak procedure) at 6-all.  In the event of split sets, a match tiebreak (using the Coman tiebreak procedure) shall be played in lieu of a third set. No coaching is allowed at any time. If a player plays multiple matches in a day for the same team, they will be entitled to a minimum rest period of one hour between matches. 

Championship format: Please note that the tournament format, number of matches and scoring format may change due to circumstances beyond our control.  Weather conditions could cause delays, modifications, and possible cancellation of the tournament. The indoor courts are not guaranteed to be available to use in the event of inclement weather.  (See FL Section regulation 2.03P)   

Full team default at Championships: FL Section regulation – 2.03K(1)a – All players/captains on a championship team not playing all matches in good faith or defaulting an entire team match shall be suspended from captaining/playing the same Division and Age Group for the next 364 days. (For example: A violation in the Adult 18 & Over Division and Age Group would lead to a suspension from captaining/playing Adult 18 & Over). This includes registered and non-registered players who made a commitment to participate in the Sectional Championship. The Local Play Coordinator will be notified of the suspension.   Within 5 days of notification, players may appeal their suspension to the Sectional League Coordinator. 

Umpires: There are roving umpires present at all championship sites. Roving umpires may be positioned inside the fenced areas and will interfere with play as little as possible. Players should be encouraged to play tennis without the need for umpires to be present. In the case of disputed calls and upon the request of the player, a roving umpire may be requested to observe a portion of the match 

Court Surface: Clay 

Coaching: No coaching allowed. 

Trainer: There will be a trainer on-site to assist with athletic injuries.  

Awards:  Winners and Finalist must report to the tournament desk for award distribution and team picture following their final match.
