Selection and Seeding Process
USTA Florida has made the decision to utilize UTR, Universal Tennis Rating, for selection and seeding for upcoming section Level 4 and Level 5 tournaments beginning in March.
As you know, there have been issues with the new 2021 National Standings Lists and ranking accuracy. USTA National has been working very hard to correct any and all ranking discrepancies to ensure that the most accurate rankings are produced.
While we have seen many of those discrepancies resolved and the NSL list getting better, using UTR to make selections and seeding will provide the most accurate process while the NSL list corrections are complete.
We will continue to evaluate the NSL lists and when we see that the ranking corrections have been completed and correct, USTA Florida will then go back to the NSL list for the selection and seeding process and we will communicate to everyone when that will be.
