2016 USTA Florida Tennis Award Nominations Open

The USTA Florida Awards Committee has announced the nomination process for the 2016 USTA Florida Awards has begun this week and will extend through June.

The awards will be presented at the USTA Florida Annual Meeting and Tennis Celebration on Nov. 18-20, 2016. All nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form.

“No nominations will be accepted after June 30, so go online now, and don’t let that special Florida volunteer or organization go unrecognized,” said USTA Florida staffer and Awards Committee liaison Lynne Salus.

The 2016 awards will be presented in the following categories:

Service Awards — Hall of Fame (Administrative and/or Player), Merit Award (Female/Male), Tennis Family, Outstanding Volunteer.

Resource Division Awards — Member Organization, Outstanding Media Excellence.

Competitive Tennis Awards — Outstanding Tournament Director, Albert Carrington Balink Award (Junior Player of the Year), Exceptional Adult Player (Female/Male/Senior/Wheelchair Division), Jimmy Gantt Memorial Award.

Community Tennis Awards — Youth Tennis Service Provider (this award includes nominees for the following categories: Junior Competitive Coach; Junior Team Tennis Volunteer; USTA Florida School Tennis Award; 10 & Under Tennis Volunteer), Adult Tennis Service Provider (this award includes nominees for the following categories: USTA League Tennis Volunteer; USTA Tennis On Campus Coordinator; Community Tennis Volunteer; Masters Tennis Volunteer), Outstanding Diversity Achievement.
